Beyond the Barriers 2020 – OAC’s 5th Annual Research & Technology Event @ Toronto Airport March 30-31

Exploring the Potential of Aerospace Research and Technology in Ontario

On March 30 and 31st, the Ontario Aerospace Council will host a two-day conference entitled Beyond the Barriers 2020. This event gathers together the Ontario aerospace R&T community to explore the exciting potential of aerospace research in Ontario. The conference aims to promote collaboration and advance innovation; a goal that we at SOSCIP share as part of our mandate. Local, regional and international actors will be in attendance, representing the fields of additive manufacturing, avionics, propulsion, robotics and space systems and more.

Ontario’s aerospace industry accounts for over 30% ($500 million) of all aerospace R&D in Canada and employs 21,000 skilled workers. There are over 200 companies contributing to the global aerospace supply chain in Ontario. Taken together, this means there are significant opportunities for growth and job creation in this sector. Moreover, SOSCIP’s proven track record of success in accelerating the shift from research to commercialization means that we are ideally placed to contribute to the aerospace industry as it rockets forward.

SOSCIP, Canada’s only R&D consortium harnessing advanced computer resources sees great potential in research on aerospace. We are very excited to speak to delegates and attendees about how SOSCIP’s advanced computing platforms, in combination with our large collaborative ecosystem, can provide opportunities for new discoveries in aerospace research.

Certainly a conference we are looking forward to. It should prove to be a great chance to meet with industry to explore and expand collaboration prospects.
